James Ray Fry, 76, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at The Neighborhoods by Tiger Place in Columbia, MO.

James Ray Fry was born March 13, 1943 in New Florence, MO, to Harvey Fry, Sr. and Bessie Brower Fry. He was born and raised on the farm in New Florence, MO, and was the youngest of eleven children. James graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School and he owned his own construction business, Fry Construction Co. Mr. Fry enjoyed collecting nice cars and going to auctions. He loved to visit with all his family and friends.

Mr. Fry is survived by his children: Randall Fry and partner, Greg, of Howell, Michigan; Robyn Malnicof and husband, Wayne, of Olathe, KS; Melissa Bethel and husband, Noah, of Wesley Chapel, FL; and Nathaniel Fry and wife, Chelsea, of Montgomery City, MO; grandchildren: Brittany Spruytte, Tiffany Malnicof, Chloe Bethel, Sydney Bethel, Grace Bethel and Noah T. Bethel; and one great-grandson, Hudson Spruytte. Also surviving are his brother and sisters: Ruth Young, John Fry, Dolly Shreffler, and Jewel Cranor, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Fry was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Fry, Sr. and Bessie Brower Fry; and brothers and sisters: Ed Fry, Amelia Jones, Cathleen Pines, Melva Dean Johnson, Jean Smith, and H. P. Fry, Jr.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Reverend David Mayfield officiated and interment was in the New Florence Cemetery in New Florence, MO. Visitation was held on Friday from Noon until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers included Randall Fry, Wayne Malnicof, Noah Bethel, Noah T. Bethel, Alex Stiles and Greg Stiles.
