James Howard Ferguson, 56, of Jonesburg, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at his home with his loving wife by his side.
James was born on October 7, 1967, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of James Stanley Ferguson and Diana Sue (Hazelwood) Ferguson. James met Marjorie Lynn Miller and they got married on July 27th in Indianapolis at the age of 16, celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this year. Together they raised three sons: Joshua, Michael, and Nicholas.
James loved life! He loved being outside, taking care of his yard, helping people, and spending time with his family. He especially loved working on anything with a motor! He loved to ride his Harley with his wife, Marjorie, who was the love of his life and best friend.
He was a tree trimmer and certified arborist his whole life and a life-long member of Local 2 IBEW. He retired after many years from Shade Tree. After retirement, James and Marjorie enjoyed riding their motorcycles, being free-spirited, and enjoying everything life has to offer.
James is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of the home; three sons: Joshua James and wife, Kayla, of Lake St. Louis, Michael James and wife, Kristi, of Montgomery City, Nicholas James of Wright City; five grandchildren: Kylie, Jackson, Cohen, Adleigh, and Kollins; two younger brothers: Michael Ferguson of Eldon, David Ferguson and wife, Tina, of Montgomery City; and lots of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Stanley, and mother, Diana Sue Ferguson.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Missouri, with Pastor Chris Meyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellflower Cemetery in Bellflower, Missouri.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Schlanker Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
