James Henry Carper, 59, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Boone Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, MO.

James Henry Carper was born August 27, 1957 in Dyersburg, TN to Henry Lee Carper and Sarah Pauline Coleman Carper. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. James married Donna Rose Hazelwood on February 21, 1981 in Bogota, TN and has been married for 36 wonderful years. Mr. Carper was a production worker at General Motors. He was a member of the Reach Community Church in Montgomery City and he lived his life for God – he was a true man of faith. Mr. Carper worked with the Little R Kids on Sundays at Reach Community Church, enjoyed fishing, collecting vintage automobiles and loved going on date nights to the movies with his wife. He loved being with his family and friends and loved watching his grandchildren play basketball and baseball.

Mr. Carper is survived by his wife of 36 years, Donna Rose Hazelwood Carper of Montgomery City, MO; three children: Kerry Huth and husband, Tracy, of Montgomery City, MO; Kelly Hart of Montgomery City, MO; and Kenny Hart and wife, Rachel of Warrenton, MO; four grandchildren: Savannah Huth and boyfriend, Trevor; T. J. Proffitt; Logan Hart; and Cameron Hart. Also surviving is his brother, Robert Boone of Indiana; three sisters: Linda Carper of Indiana; Joyce Carper and husband, Jeff, of Atlanta, Georgia; and Marie Carper of Louisiana; and number nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Carper was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lee Carper and Sarah Pauline Coleman Carper; and two sisters, Diane and Brenda.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Reach Community Church in Montgomery City, MO. Interment with Military Honors was in the Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers included Kenny Hart, Tracy Huth, T. J. Proffitt, Logan Hart, Cameron Hart, and Trevor Hollaway.
