Ignatius Joseph Busken, 93, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the St. Andrews New Florence Care Center in New Florence, MO.

Ignatius Joseph Busken was born December 5, 1926 in Florissant, MO to John Busken and Mary Knobbe Busken. He married Marian Theresa Pezold on October 25, 1952 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Baden, MO, and were married for over 67 wonderful years, until Mrs. Busken preceded him in death on November 29, 2019. Mr. Busken was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a very hard worker and worked over 53 years as a dairy farmer starting when he was 9 and retired at 62, milking all his cows by hand. Mr. Busken also enjoyed raising cattle, hogs, and chickens and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Busken was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montgomery City, MO. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Mr. Busken is survived by his children: Gerard Busken and wife, Sharon, of rural Jonesburg, MO; Michael Busken of Montgomery City, MO; Kevin Busken and wife, Juanita, of Montgomery City, MO; Joseph Busken of Montgomery City, MO; Ignatius Busken of Montgomery City, MO; Mark Busken and wife, Donna, of New Florence, MO; and Paul Busken and wife, Davina, of Curryville, MO; eight grandchildren: Ann McChristy and husband, Patrick; Christopher Busken and friend, Donna; Rebekah Peatross and friend, Ryan; Megan Dake and husband, Jimmy; Jennifer Gillette and husband, Kevin; Mandy Abercrombie and husband, Brad; and Jason Busken and friend, Scott; and thirteen great-grandchildren and one on the way. Also surviving is his one sister, Martha Orf of St. Charles, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr. Busken was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Busken; his wife, Marian Theresa Pezold Busken; granddaughter, Sarah; brothers: Alphonse, Herbert, and Lambert Busken; sisters: Olivia Burns; Josephine Behrle and husband, Ben; Bertha Stromberg and husband, LeRoy; Marne Gibson and husband, Wally; and Sister Rita Marie Busken; and brother-in-law, Gerald Orf.

A Funeral Mass was held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montgomery City, MO. Interment was in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers will included his sons, Gerard, Michael, Kevin, Joseph, Ignatius, Mark and Paul Busken. Honorary Casketbearers included Jimmy Reeves, Stanley Busken and Bobby Pezold.
