Hilbert Walter Steiner, 94, of New Florence, MO, died on Monday, July 11, 2022 at St. Andrews New Florence in New Florence, MO.

Hilbert Walter Steiner was born May 14, 1928 in St. Louis County, Missouri to Otto L. Steiner and Claudia Brommelsick Steiner.  He graduated from Eureka High School.  He married Esther Alberta Dohack on April 30, 1966 in St. Louis County, MO, and were married over 53 wonderful years when Mrs. Steiner died on February 6, 2020.  Together they farmed many years until their health started to decline.  Mr. Steiner was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in High Hill, MO and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and putting puzzles together.  Mr. Steiner was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed.

Mr. Steiner is survived by his two daughters: Debbie Bainbridge and husband, Tony, of Wentzville, MO and Sharon Sachs and husband, Dan, of Wentzville, MO; and four grandchildren: Alan Sachs and wife, Meaghan, Michael Sachs, Adam Bainbridge and fiancée, Megan, and Ryan Bainbridge and fiancée, Katie; and two great-granddaughters, Maggie Sachs and Amelia Sachs.  He is also survived by one niece, Janet Moehsmer of St. Louis County, MO; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr. Steiner was preceded in death by his parents, Otto L. Steiner and Claudia Brommelsick Steiner; his wife, Esther Alberta Dohack Steiner; sister, Ethel Rombach; and infant brother, Harold Steiner.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the St. John's United Church of Christ in High Hill, MO. The Reverend Don Deeker will officiate and interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near High Hill, MO.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.  Casketbearers include Alan Sachs, Michael Sachs, Adam Bainbridge, Ryan Bainbridge, Tony Bainbridge and Dan Sachs.
