Glennon Andrew Gettinger, 81, of St. Louis, MO, died on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the Rosewood Care Center in St. Louis, MO.

Glennon Andrew Gettinger was born August 15, 1936 in St. Louis, MO, to Francis Gettinger and Alpha Aubuchon Gettinger. He graduated from Mercy High School in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Gettinger was the owner of Midwest Oil Refining Company in St. Louis, MO, and worked hard his entire life. Mr. Gettinger enjoyed the outdoors and nature. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching birds, especially blue birds. He also enjoyed building bird houses and bird feeders. Mr. Gettinger loved spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by everyone.

Mr. Gettinger is survived by his four children: Lee Gettinger of St. Louis, MO; Wayne Gettinger of St. Louis, MO; Darryl Gettinger and wife, Pam, of St. Louis, MO; and Amy Attias and husband, Avi of St. Charles, MO. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Matthew, Melanie, Travis, Chase, Andrea, Lacey, Crystal, Amanda and Luke; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Schellman of Jefferson City, MO; and Shirley Schellman of St. Charles, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Jim Guffie officiated and interment was in the Mt. Horeb Cemetery, near Williamsburg, MO. Visitation was held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers included Chase Gettinger, Travis Gettinger; and Darin Brandt.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mt. Horeb Cemetery; the Mt. Horeb Church; c/o Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO    63361.
