George Warren Hubbard, 96, of Montgomery County, Missouri passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

George Warren Hubbard was born on June 26, 1927, in Montgomery City, Missouri, to Dr. Warren L. Hubbard and Artie Blanche Robinson Hubbard. George graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School and married Sylvia Iona Johnson on March 13, 1945, in Hermann, Missouri. They had been married over 57 wonderful years until she preceded him in death on March 25, 2002. Mr. Hubbard was a farmer, heavy equipment operator, towboat pilot, and surveyor, and was elected County Surveyor of Montgomery County (1972 – 1976). Mr. Hubbard retired from Union Electric as a foreman. He enjoyed building ship models, boat building, and anything related to the river and sailing. Mr. Hubbard enjoyed visiting with all his family and friends.

Mr. Hubbard is survived by two daughters: Rita McIntyre of Sugar Land, TX; and Blanche C. Callaway and husband, Mike, of Belton, TX; two sons: Kevin M. Hubbard of Marshfield, MO; and Mark A. Hubbard of Fenton, MO; twelve grandchildren: Alissia Hughes Wagner, Denise Walton Lenk, Erica Walton Jones, Eric McIntyre, Jesse McIntyre, Gina Callaway Rumchick, Jessica Callaway Tolar, Matthew Hubbard, Rebecca Hubbard, Catherine Hubbard, and Sara Huck; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hubbard was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Warren L. and Artie Blanche Robinson Hubbard; wife, Sylvia Iona Johnson Hubbard; one son, Terry Hubbard; two daughters, Sandra Thompson and Leslie Walton; one grandson, Todd Thompson; one great-grandchild, Chelsea Hughes; and two sisters, Grace and Carola.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Schlanker Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Missouri, with Reverend Kevin Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow in the Montgomery City Cemetery.
