Gary Lee Cuno, 70, of Montgomery City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Gary was born on August 15, 1955, in Troy, Missouri, to Otto C. Cuno and Viola M. (Landwehr) Cuno. In 1958, the Cuno family purchased their farm in High Hill, Missouri—a place that would become central to Gary's life. From a young age, he worked alongside his "Pop" on the farm, forming a lifelong love for the farm, tractors, and the outdoors. Even in recent years, he loved visiting the farm, often taking his time mowing just so he could stop and watch the deer.

He graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in 1974 and went on to help run the family business, Cuno Pick-Up Coach and Trailer Sales, which was started by his father in 1961. Gary proudly co-owned and operated the business with his brother, Don Cuno.

On March 2, 1974, Gary married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Linda Gail Korman, at the very church they called home, the First United Methodist Presbyterian Church, in Montgomery City. The two had been together since the 9th grade and built a life full of love, laughter, and deep family bonds. Together, they raised two daughters, Stephanie and Sandy Cuno, whom he adored. Gary's pride in his family knew no bounds. Whether camping with "his girls" or spending time with his beloved dogs, Toby, Sam, and Princess, Gary treasured the simple joys in life. He was always happy to visit, share a story, or lend a hand. He had a warm, joyful spirit that made people feel like they mattered.

Gary had a special place in his heart for tractors—especially Ford and Massey Ferguson models—and he never missed the Montgomery County Old Threshers. He had a deep appreciation for tradition and community, and he poured his heart into everything he was part of.

One of Gary's proudest community efforts was the Montgomery City Hometown Christmas, put on by the Montgomery City Area Chamber of Commerce. It was his dream to see the event grow. Every year, no matter how cold it got, Gary could be found dressed as an elf, handing out candy canes to kids and adults alike. It didn't matter who you were—you were getting a candy cane. He was a kid at heart and never lost that joy.

One of his most well-loved sayings was: "I'm running this show." And indeed, he did—with energy, humor, and love.

Mr. Cuno is survived by his loving wife, Linda Gail Cuno, of the home, and their two daughters: Stephanie Cuno and Sandy Cuno, also of the home; brother, Don Cuno, of Montgomery City, Missouri; siblings-in-law: Dianna Korman Zumwalt of Montgomery City, Missouri, Dennis (Margie) Korman of Austin, Texas; cousins: Karen Richmond, Mindi (Jim) Arnold, both of  California, Bonnie Vahle of Florida; his nieces, whom he loved dearly: Tammy Vera, Victoria (Tito) Hernandez, Samantha (Levon Ingram) Jay, Lindsey (Darren Brookman) Brooks; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Viola Cuno, parents-in-law, Tom and Norma Korman, his nephew, Shaun Sturgeon, and his brother-in-law, Pat Zumwalt.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the First United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Montgomery City, Missouri, with Reverend Lynn Quist officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Montgomery City Cemetery.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, at the church, from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
