Floyd J. Andrews, 90, of rural Montgomery City, MO, died on Friday, June 19, 2020, at his home surrounded by family.
Floyd Jean Andrews was born on a farm 2 1/2 miles Northwest of Buell, MO, on June 18, 1930 to Russell Andrews and Grace Seale Andrews. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from February 6, 1952 until January 19, 1954. Mr. Andrews served in Germany part of Company A Engineer Division. Mr. Andrews married Nell Laura Talbot on August 27, 1955 in Hermann, MO, and have been married for over 64 wonderful years. Mr. Andrews enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to BP Coffee Shop and taking rides. He especially loved visiting with his family and many friends and will be dearly missed.
Mr. Andrews is survived by his wife, Nell Laura Talbot Andrews of rural Montgomery City, MO; two children: Pam Andrews and Wayne Andrews and wife, Joan, all of Montgomery City, MO; three grandchildren: Blake Dettenwanger and wife, Katie of California, MO; Mindy Dettenwanger Phillips and husband, Greg, of Jefferson City, MO; and Abby Andrews Stevens and husband, Luke, of rural Montgomery City, MO; and one great-grandson on the way. Mr. Andrews is also survived by one sister, Mary Atterberry and husband, Ralph, of Montgomery City, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Grace Seale Andrews; four brothers: Virgil Andrews, Clarence Andrews, Paul Andrews, and Vernon Andrews; and two sisters: Margaret Harrison and Juanita Jurgesmeyer.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend John Brumagin officiated and interment was in the Montgomery City Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home. Casketbearers included Kenny Jurgesmeyer, Richard Jurgesmeyer, Phil Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Wade Andrews, Rod Sturgeon and Chuck Powell. Honorary casketbearers included Rusty Harrison, George Krumanocker, Lou Seig, and Gene Whyte.
