Dorothy June Brack, 96, of Price's Branch, MO, died on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at the New Florence Care Center in New Florence, MO.
Dorothy June Varnon Brack was born September 12, 1921 in High Hill, MO, to Harry Robert Varnon and Leola Dyke Varnon. She graduated from Bellflower High School and then attended Nurses Training at St. Louis City Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Mrs. Brack was a nurse and worked for the Army Hospital with the Cadets in Springfield, MO. She married Herman Brack on October 7, 1949 and he preceded her in death on April 5, 1996. Mrs. Brack was a member of the Price's Branch Christian Church; was instrumental in getting the ARC Board and Senate Bill 40 Boards started and served as a board member for years; member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in Jonesburg, MO; and loved visiting with all her family and friends.
Mrs. Brack is survived by one grandson, Steven James Brack of Tucson, Arizona; two step-grandsons: Jeremy Raymond and wife, Pricilla, of Arizona and Josh Raymond of Massachusetts; and two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Jonathan. She is also survived by her sisters: Mary Ruth Goretzke and Imogene Woods, all of Price's Branch, MO; sister-in-law, Mary Scheible Varnon also of Price's Branch; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Brack was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Brack; her son, Albert Eugene Brack; her daughter, Judith Brack; brother, Robert Varnon; and brothers-in-law, Glenn Goretzke and Ralph Woods.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Price's Branch Christian Church near New Florence, MO. Pastor Tyler King officiated and interment was in the Price's Branch Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Monday at the Schlanker Funeral Home of Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers included Steven Brack; David Goretzke; Glenn Goretzke; Jeremy Raymond; Josh Raymond; and Dan McDaniel.
