Dennis Eugene Devlin, 73, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Dennis Eugene Devlin was born August 26, 1942 in Americus, MO, to Edward Devlin and Lucille Overkamp Devlin. He graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School in Montgomery City, MO. On December 8, 1961 he married Shirley Jean "Sissy" Beabout Devlin and to this union three children were born, Steve, Laura and Mary. On April 6, 1991 he married Donna Gruber and they were married for over 25 wonderful years. Mr. Devlin retired after driving a transit truck for Cassens Transit. Mr. Devlin attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City, MO. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed mushroom hunting and going to auctions. Mr. Devlin loved spending his time with family and visiting with his many friends.

Mr. Devlin is survived by his wife, Donna Gruber Devlin of Montgomery City, MO; eight children: Steve Devlin and wife, Lyna, of High Hill, MO; Laura Armstrong and husband, John, of Fulton, MO; Mary Devlin of Montgomery City, MO; Diana Lynn Jones of Montgomery City, MO; Rhonda Stanturf and husband, William, of Huntsville, MO; Renee Moody of Montgomery City, MO; and Shannon Stone and husband, Junior, of California, MO; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are six brothers: Kenneth Devlin; Sidney Devlin and wife, Brenda, all of New Florence, MO; Ronald Devlin and wife, Linda, of St. Louis, MO; Russell Devlin and wife, Ruth; Gene Devlin and wife, Liz; and Glen Devlin, all of New Florence, MO; and sister-in-law, Connie Devlin. Also surviving are several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Mary Elizabeth Snarr, Mildred Brandenburg and husband, Willard, all of Montgomery City, MO; Margaret Etter of New Florence, MO; Wanda Robinson and husband, Don, of Montgomery City, MO; Esther Bloom of Merritt Island, FL; Patricia Aguilar and husband, Sal, of Montgomery City, MO; Henry "Pat" Gruber of Montgomery City, MO; William Anthony "Bill" Gruber and Donna Turnbough of Paris, MO; John Gruber and Paula Gruber both of Montgomery City, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mr. Devlin was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Michelle Miller; great-grandson, Dayne Hathman; sister, Pat Devlin; brother, Larry Devlin; brothers-in-law, Mike Gruber and Richard "Bud" Gruber; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Uphoff, Berniece Brandenburg, Alice Pearl Gruber, Joyce Gruber, and Denice Gruber.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend David Knight will officiate and interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, West of Montgomery City, MO. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Schlanker Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 8:00 PM with Reverend Augustine Okoli officiating at the funeral home. Casketbearers include Dana Devlin, Jody Devlin, Jared Stanturf, Bryan Stanturf, Ronnie Hagan, Jim Buckley, and Justin Devlin. Honorary casketbearers include Tanner Allen and Cody Allen.
