Delores Jean Welschmeyer Miller, 65, of rural Montgomery City, MO, died on November 25, 2017, at her home surrounded by family.

Delores Jean Welschmeyer Miller was born on July 27, 1952 in Mexico, MO, to Joseph Welschmeyer and Eileen Worland Welschmeyer. She graduated from Wellsville-Middletown R-I and then graduated Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, with a degree in education and then received her master's degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Delores married Richard Miller on August 11, 1990 in Montgomery City, MO, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2006. Delores was very active in the community and was a very caring person. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City, MO; member of the United Way; the Society of St. Vincent DePaul; the Dolly Pardon Imagination Library; the St. Mary's Cemetery Board; the Diocese Financial Committee; and started the Bookin Babes Club. Delores was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, enjoyed mowing grass, cross stitching, crocheting and knitting. She loved being a Step-Mother, Granny, and Aunt and loved being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Delores is survived by her step-children: Kale Elton Miller and wife, Beth, of rural Montgomery City, MO; Anna Jane Miller Singer and husband, Jared, of rural Sedalia, MO; and Megan Elizabeth Miller Bruce and husband, Cory, of St. Charles, MO; five grandchildren: Paige, Eric, Mariah, Cora and Jolie; mother-in-law, Marjorie Oliver Miller of Montgomery City, MO; three brothers: Jim Welschmeyer and wife, Barbara, of Wellsville, MO; Harold Welschmeyer of Mexico, MO; and Pat Welschmeyer of Columbia, MO; and three sisters: Jane Bellinghausen and husband, Bob, of Columbia, MO; Barbara Jones and husband, Larry, of Fulton, MO; and Mary Beth Strassner and husband, David, of Swiss, MO. Also surviving are her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Marvin Miller of Montgomery City, MO; Pitman Miller and wife, Cindy, of New Florence, MO; Nancy Cope and husband, Bill, of Truxton, MO; Mary Jarboe and husband, Terry, of Gallatin, MO; Sterling Oliver and wife, Pam, of Mexico, MO; Peggy Rodgers and husband, Randy, of High Hill, MO; Rebecca Taylor of Jefferson City, MO; and Tammy Hackman and husband, Don, of Mahomet, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eileen Worland Welschmeyer; her father-in-law, Flemon Miller; her husband, Richard Miller; and sister-in-law, Barbara Miller.

A funeral mass was held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City, MO. Interment was in the Worland Cemetery near Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Augustine Okoli, the Reverend Christopher Cordes, the Reverend Eddie Becker; and Monsigno Greg Higley, along with Deacon Mark Aulbur and Deacon Wayne Korte officiated. Visitation was held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Montgomery City, MO, with a Prayer Service at 8:00 PM at the church. Casketbearers included John Clowe, Don Clowe, Ryan Welschmeyer, Eric Welschmeyer, Josh Welschmeyer, Jeremy Welschmeyer, and Scott Jones. Honorary casketbearers included Eric Saak and Nick Welschmeyer.
