Darlene Eugenia (Kampman) Sachs, 90, of Montgomery City, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, Missouri.

Darlene was born on October 13, 1933, in St. Charles, Missouri, the daughter of Edwin Francis Kampman and Elvira Selena (Schwendemann) Kampman. She attended the Borromeo Catholic Grade School before going on to graduate High School and was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish growing up. She married Lester "Johnny" Charles Sachs on October 18, 1952, in St. Charles, Missouri. Together they farmed most of their married lives and Darlene took care of their home and eight children. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a caring grandmother. She was a proud member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montgomery City, Missouri, a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and especially enjoyed time spent with the Bellflower T.I.E. group. She enjoyed tending to her garden, had a fondness for roses, and could often be found sitting at her table watching the hummingbirds.

Mrs. Sachs is survived by seven of her eight beloved children: Lester (Stephanie) Sachs, Jr. of Fountaintown, Indiana, LeeAnn (Dorsey) Horton of Middletown, Missouri, Leonard (Jeanette) Sachs of Montgomery City, Missouri, Linda (Mark) Dunbar of Jefferson City, Missouri, Lloyd (Polly) Sachs of High Hill, Missouri, Dan (Sharon) Sachs of Wentzville, Missouri, Darren (Stacey) Sachs of High Hill, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Sherri Sachs of Montgomery City, Missouri; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and two on the way; one great-great-granddaughter and one on the way; and sisters-in-law: Joann Kampman and Mary Jane Green.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin F. and Elvira S. Kampman; her loving husband, Lester Charles Sachs; her sister, Carol Ryan; her brother, Ed Kampman; and her son, Lawrence "Larry" Allen Sachs, who passed away on October 3, 2022, and his ashes will be laid to rest with his mother in Sunrise Memorial Gardens on November 16, 2023.

A Funeral Mass will be held on at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montgomery City, Missouri. Father Ernest Dike will officiate and interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Montgomery City. The pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jeff Sachs, Brandon Sachs, Randy Sachs, Nick Sachs, Alan Sachs, Michael Sachs, Clayton Sachs, DJ Horton, and Dusty Horton, and one honorary pallbearer, Sean Sachs.

A Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Missouri, with a Prayer Service prior, at 4:30 PM at the funeral home.
