Charles William Stumbaugh, 89, of Montgomery City, Mo died April 21, 2018, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Mo.

Charlie was born April 2, 1929 in St. Louis, Mo to Jacob N. Stumbaugh and Golda E. Ridenour. He graduated from Montgomery City High School in 1946. He married Peggy Ann Dixon in Mexico, Mo on April 18, 1947. Charlie and Peggy, the love of his life, enjoyed over 63 years of marriage before her death.

Charlie was well known within the Montgomery City community and surrounding area with Prairie Milling Co. for many years. Charlie enjoyed bowling, golf, water skiing, traveling, the St. Louis Cardinals but, most of all, he and Peggy enjoyed family, attending the many activities of their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He had a great zest for life, the importance for a job done right, doing the right thing, helping those in need, believing in your own abilities, never meeting a stranger but his joy for life and humor were among the best things he passed down to his children and their children. Charlie's love for his wife, Peggy, and their marriage was an example that was not lost on any of his family. Good times or bad times, cheerful or irate, tranquil or stormy, they stuck together.
