Carrie Lynn Brown, 47, of Jonesburg, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Carrie was born on May 17, 1979, in Columbia, Missouri, to Darrell Howser and Reva (Bowman) Howser.

Carrie dedicated many years to serving others as a Pet Specialist at Rural King. She had a special gift for connecting with both people and animals, and she was known for remembering nearly every customer and their pet by name. Her customers were more than just familiar faces—they were friends whom she cared for deeply.

Above all else, Carrie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Some of her favorite memories were the long road trips she took with her husband, especially their journeys to Montana to visit her eldest son, daughter-in-law, and grandson.

Carrie had a fun-loving spirit and enjoyed life's adventures. She loved roller coasters, camping trips, canoeing on the Meramec River, and spending time outdoors. While she enjoyed fishing, she was quick to let others handle the worms and fish. She and her husband also shared a love of going to the movies. It rarely mattered what was playing—they simply enjoyed the experience of being together.

One of Carrie's greatest joys was spending time with her family playing World of Warcraft. The game became more than a hobby; it was another way for her to laugh, connect, and create memories with those she loved most.

Carrie's love for animals extended far beyond her work. She adored her beloved dog, Leena Lee, who held a special place in her heart and was a constant source of companionship, comfort, and joy throughout her life.

Carrie is survived by her husband, Chris Brown, of the home; two sons: Quinlin (Emily) Brown of Great Falls, Montana, Thomas Brown of Jonesburg, Missouri; grandson, Alistair Brown of Great Falls, Montana; her mother, Reva Howser of Barnett, Missouri; and two sisters: Lisa (Kyle) Bradley of Columbia, Missouri, and Melissa “Misi” (Jerry) Howell of Russellville, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Howser, and her brother, Timothy Howser.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, Missouri.

A Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the funeral home.
