Carol Jean Carter Worley, 91, of New Florence, MO, died on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the St. Andrew's New Florence Nursing and Care Center in New Florence, MO.

Carol Worley was born September 2, 1928 in Mexico, MO, a daughter of Arthur Barnes and Flossie Mae Dixon Carter. She attended grade school and high school in New Florence, MO. She married Walter David "Dave" Worley on September 24, 1948 in New Florence, MO, and were married for over 62 wonderful years until Mr. Worley died on March 5, 2011. Mrs. Worley worked for the United States Postal System for fourteen years. She started as a part time flex clerk. Later she became Officer in Charge and became Postmaster June of 1976. She worked in all those capacities in the New Florence Facility and retired on August 31, 1990. Mrs. Worley was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Montgomery City, MO, enjoyed reading her Bible, sewing, gardening and loved to cook. She loved to visit with her family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Worley is survived by her five children: Gary Worley and wife, Carol, of Mexico, MO; Sue Divan of Bowling Green, Kentucky; Nina Abel and husband, John, of Mexico, MO; Terry Worley and wife, Cheryl, of Greenville, SC; and Nancee Wardensky and husband, Timothy, of New Haven, MO; ten grandchildren: Gia Eichelberger and husband, Jim; Ted Worley and wife, Brandy; Mindy Runte and husband, Dan; Keith Niswonger and Carrie Day; Johnna Jackson and husband, Marty Whitley; Craig Jackson; Beau Worley and wife, Vickie; Christopher Worley; Samuel Worley and wife, Leah; and Faith Worley; and nine great-grandchildren: Emma and Jay Eichelberger; Gage Worley, Tanner Mallock; McKenzie Jackson; Georgia Sue, Zoe and Maddox Worley; and Kendra Niswonger. Mrs. Worley is also survived by her sisters: Barbara Stuart and husband, Sidney of Holts Summit, MO; Nina Edmunds of High Hill, MO; Phyllis Gonas and husband, Bob, of New York; Mary Crouch and husband, Bob, of Mineola, MO; and Gayl Cuno of Florida; Brother, Sidney Lyn Carter and wife, Layna, of Columbia, MO; sisters-in-law: Edna Groteweil of New Florence, MO; Dorothy Greishaber and husband, Dan, of Michigan; Doris Tuma of Montgomery City, MO; Martha Pottaust and husband, Manuel of Warrenton, MO; Mary Evelyn Worley of Montgomery City, MO; Ruthie Kivett of Illinois; Vera Carter of New Florence, MO; Barbara Carter of Kirksville, MO; and Wanda Carter of Troy, MO; Brothers-in-law: Don Worley and wife, Sue of New Florence, MO; Melvin Worley and wife, Dorothy of New Florence, MO; and by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Worley was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur Barnes Carter and Flossie Mae Carter; her husband, Walter David Worley; Brothers: Bill Carter, Emory "Lee" Carter, David Carter, infant, Darrell Carter and Kenny Carter; sister, Joyce Maxine Carter; Brothers-in-law: Kenneth Worley, Homer Worley, LeRoy Worley, Aubrey Deeker, Owen Grotewiel, George Tuma, Joe Huffman, Robert Arens, Andy Edmunds, Jim Hollomon, Burnell Horstman and Fred Cuno; and Sisters-in-law: Winona Deeker, Pauline Huffman, Marjorie Worley, Evelyn Worley, Mary Arens, and Jacqueline Carter.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.  Mr. Alan Brake officiated and interment was in the New Florence Cemetery in New Florence, MO.  Visitation was held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.  Casketbearers included Keith Niswonger, Samuel Worley, Ted Worley, Dan Runte, John Abel and Marty Whitley.
