Carl Henry Schroer, 71, of New Florence, MO, died Thursday, May 12, 2016, at his home in New Florence, MO.

Carl Henry Schroer was born January 17, 1945 in Case, MO, to Henry John Schroer and Bernice Louise Heberle Schroer. He was a 1963 graduate of Montgomery County R-II High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 1969. He went back to the family farm to continue farming until his health would not allow.

Carl married Susan Miller on June 24, 1972 in Montgomery City, MO. They lived their married life on the family farm in New Florence, MO.
Carl was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in High Hill, MO. He served on the CO-OP Board and the St. John's United Church of Christ Church Council. He enjoyed farming, checking the crops, reading, and most of all spending time with his grandkids – especially attending and watching all of their sporting events.

He is preceded in death by his father, Henry John Schroer and father-in-law, Burt White Miller.

Mr. Schroer is survived by his wife, Susan Miller Schroer of New Florence, MO; two children, daughter, Carla Parker and husband, Chris, of Montgomery City, MO; and son, Scott Schroer and wife, Michelle, of Montgomery City, MO; seven grandchildren: Carson Parker, Collin Parker, Clayton Parker, Hannah Schroer, Ann Schroer, Carie Schroer, and Adie Schroer, all of Montgomery City, MO. Also surviving is his mother, Bernice Schroer, of New Florence, MO; one sister, Nancy Engel and husband, Phil of High Hill, MO; two brothers-in-law, Bob Miller and wife, Karen, of Montgomery City, MO; Mike Miller and wife, Kandies, of Troy; one sister-in-law, Betty Schipper and husband, Maurice of Wellsville, MO; and mother-in-law, Beth Miller of New Florence, MO.

Funeral services were be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the St. John's United Church of Christ in High Hill, MO. The Reverend Don Deeker and Reverend Tom Higgins officiated and interment was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, near High Hill, MO. Visitation was held on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the St. John's United Church of Christ in High Hill, MO. Casketbearers included Burt James Miller, Marvin Miller, George Schroer, Will Oliver, Howard Hollensteiner, Gary Gardner, and Neil Meyer. Honorary Casketbearers were Hilbert Steiner and Wiley Melton.
