Brenda Joyce Spellings, 76, of Troy, MO, formerly of Bellflower, MO, died on Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Mercy-Lincoln Hospital in Troy, MO.
Brenda Joyce Esters Spellings was born June 4, 1943 in Tennessee to Earl P. Esters and Thelma L. Studards Esters. She graduated from a high school in St. Louis, MO and pursued college courses during the course of her career. Brenda married Gerald Dean Spellings on July 12, 1969 in St. Louis, MO, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1999. Brenda retired after working many years at the Regional Planning Commission in Warrenton, MO, working as a jobs training partnership coordinator. Brenda was a member of the Bellflower Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing Bingo, doing word search puzzles, and watching game shows on television. She loved visiting with her family and friends and will be missed dearly.
Mrs. Spellings is survived by her three children: Lori Forbeck and husband, Darrell, of Troy, MO; Paul Williams and wife, Dianne, of Moscow Mills, MO; and Earl Williams and girlfriend, Cindy, of Collinsville, IL; six grandchildren: Curtis Twellmann and wife, Amanda, Ryan Twellmann and wife, Elizabeth, Devon Mizera and husband, Nick, Rick Williams, Danielle Williams, and Sam Williams; four great-grandchildren: Aspyn Twellmann, Jethro Twellmann, Hawken Twellmann, and Raylan Mizera and many friends.
Mrs. Spellings was preceded in death by her parents, Earl P. and Thelma L. Leonard; husband, Gerald Dean Spellings; brother, Thomas Esters; and two brothers-in-law, Thomas Spellings and William Spellings.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 14, 2020, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Ed Hankinson will officiate and interment will be in the Bellflower Cemetery in Bellflower, MO. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers include Paul Williams, Earl Williams, Rick Williams, Sam Williams, Curtis Twellmann and Ryan Twellmann.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Bellflower Cemetery, c/o Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO 63361.
