Betty Redmond, 92, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in Centralia, MO.

Betty Pearle Redmond was born October 21, 1923 in Kansas City, KS, to Ward Franklin Sutherland and Lorene E. Henry Sutherland Oquist. After graduating from high school and after raising her three children, Betty became an inspector for Coors Production. In later years she worked with her sister, Selma at the Montgomery City Florist. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Montgomery City, MO. She enjoyed doing all kinds of craft projects, crocheting, and loved to cook and enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.

Mrs. Redmond is survived by two sons: James Redmond and wife, Vicki, of Las Vegas, NV; and George Redmond and wife, Caryl, of Mesa, Arizona; and four grandchildren: Karen, Kelly Joe, Melissa and Dan; and three great-grandchildren: Kaleigh, Tucker and Stevie. Mrs. Redmond is also survived by one sister, Shirley Murphy of Branson, MO; two nieces, Glenda Calhoun of Centralia, MO; and Jeannie Windsor and husband, Gary, of Windsor Valley, MO; and one nephew, Russ Schenewerk of Branson, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Redmond was preceded in death by her parents, Ward Franklin Sutherland and Lorene E. Henry Sutherland Oquist; her husband, James Redmond ; one daughter, Donna Jeanne Redmond; Sister, Selma Lauer and husband, Glenn; and brother, Carl Oquist, Jr.

Funeral services were held at 2:00PM on Sunday at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Van Williams officiated and interment was in the Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery City, MO. Visitation was held from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Casketbearers included Jim Krattli, Jim Block, Rick Boschert, Randy Muchow, Michael Naughton, Russ Schenewerk, and Jack Holtman.
