Betty L. Rayfield, 87, of Montgomery City, MO, formerly of Bellflower, MO, died on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the St. Andrews New Florence Care Center in New Florence, MO.

Betty Ann Lovelace Rayfield was born December 29, 1931 near Middletown, MO, to Harry Lovelace and Alma Baugh Lovelace. She graduated from Montgomery City High School and then attended and graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. She met her love of her life, Robert L. Rayfield, in high school and they were married on February 24, 1952 in Leige, MO. They were married over 65 years until he preceded her in death on January 23, 2018. After living in Alabama, they returned to the Bellflower Area to take care of Betty's Mother. Mrs. Rayfield retired from the ASCS Office in Montgomery City, MO, but had worked many different jobs such as secretary to the Sheriff; worked at the Montgomery Standard; and volunteered much of her time at nursing homes. Besides taking care of her family, her volunteer work, she was a member of the TIE Group in Bellflower, MO and she enjoyed playing cards.

Mrs. Rayfield is survived by her grandson, Brett Rayfield of Florida; granddaughter, Carli Rayfield Nobles of Alabama; two great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cindy Rayfield of Florida; her dear friend, Ann Scarlet, and numerous friends.

Mrs. Rayfield was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Alma Baugh Lovelace; her husband, Robert L. Rayfield; son, Michael Rayfield; and by many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from Noon until the time of service at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Interment will be in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, north of Montgomery City, MO. Caskebearers include Brett Rayfield, Randy Riddle, Bobby River, Stan Carroz, Donny Schroeder, and Paul Schroeder. Honorary casketbearers include John Schneider, Tom Riddle, Bob River, and Bob Shelton.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Midway Cemetery, or to the St. Andrews New Florence Care Center, c/o Schlanker Funeral Home, 207 Danville Road, Montgomery City, MO   63361.
