Betty Jean Hopper Smith, 65, of Montgomery City, MO, died Sunday, October 16, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.

Betty Jean Smith was born on February 1, 1957 in Fulton, MO, to Jerry Eugene Hopper and Betty Alice Hall Hopper.  She graduated from Montgomery County R-II High School and worked at Henniges Automotive as a quality engineer until her health started to decline.  Betty enjoyed reading and watching True Crime on television and spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by two children:  Angelique Pearson of Montgomery City, MO; and Alexandra Harrison and husband, Keith, of Georgia; and grandchildren:  Austin Eugene Pearson; Lorna "Salem" Jean Morton; and Julian Harrison.  Also surviving is her sister: Susie Lynn and husband, Bruce; and their children:  Jake Lynn and wife, Beth; and Sarah Eckler and husband, Steven; Betty's brother, Jerry Eugene "Butch" Hopper, Jr. and wife, Sherry, of Mexico, MO; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Eugene Hopper and Betty Alice Hall Hopper.

Betty was cremated and there won't be any services at this time

Schlanker Funeral Home of Montgomery City, MO, was in charge of the arrangements.
