Betty Joann(Clark) Grant passed away peacefully at her home on January 24, 2021 surrounded by family and friends.

Betty was born May 12, 1941, the daughter of Mary Lou Forrest and Peoria Green in Montgomery City Missouri. Betty accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of St. John White Chapel church. She attended elementary through high school at Lincoln Park K-12 in Montgomery City.

After high school, she worked as a caregiver for many years at New Florence Nursing home, and Mexico Manor in Mexico, Mo.

Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother. She spent the later years of her life, as a homemaker, a wife, a mother, and grandmother she was strong, capable and tireless, always striving to make everything better. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time in her garage listening to music and enjoying the company of her family. The spirit and love she had for her family was best be shown by her courage and bravery when she was diagnosed with stage four cancer in June of 2020 until her passing into heaven. She had every right to cry, be mad, throw things, or even fall into depression after her diagnoses. But that was not Betty for she was graceful, and concerned about everyone else always, until God called her home. Betty loved and lived with every moment she was given, neither hard times nor cancer would rob her of who she was. As she would say "She never let any grass grow under her feet". She gave a lot to many, her friends, and extended family, but by far she gave the most to her children and grandchildren. As she held all of us in her heart, she will live on in a special place in all of our hearts forever, as an extraordinarily loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by three daughters, Rhonda Jones (Albert), Tina Clark and Shareaka Craft all of Columbia, Mo, step daughter Delores Grant and stepson Fred Grant Jr, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Two very special cousins that were like sisters Brenda Thomas and Pansy Camp.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Lou Forrest and Peoria Green, husband Charles Fredrick Grant, her eldest daughter Joyce Ann (Clark) Delaney "Tunnie", two infant grandchildren, Marsha and De'sha Smith; and a very special friend Malcolm Gaithwright.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.  The Reverend Karl Thomas will officiate and interment will be in the Montgomery City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
