Benjamin Roscoe Oden, 44, of Montgomery City, MO, died on Sunday, December 31, 2017 in Montgomery City, MO.

Benjamin Roscoe Oden was born September 25, 1973 in Columbia, MO, to Roger Alan Oden and Lois Broz Oden.  He graduated from Montgomery County R-II High school in 1991.  Ben married Jennifer Oliver on June 20, 1992 in Montgomery City, MO, and have been married for over 25 wonderful years.  Ben was the owner of Oden Concrete in Montgomery City, MO.  He was a member of Metalflakes Kar Klub; a Shriner; a member of the Masonic Lodge; and worked hard at the Montgomery County Old Thresher's.

Ben's family was his world.  He was their rock.  He worked hard and always made sure his family had everything they needed.  Ben and Jennie are the love story that others only dream about, her best friend, her soul mate.  Ben was a friend like no other; he was always there to lend a hand; usually without even being asked.  He loved to cook, be around family and friends, and enjoyed his dogs and his rat rods, but at the end of the day his family was his purpose and first priority, always.  He could make others around him laugh with his silly jokes, and he always made others feel at home wherever he was.  Ben never met a stranger; he treated everyone with respect and kindness.   Ben loved cruising around to Country Gold Saturday night with his dogs and wife by his side.

Ben is survived by his wife, Jennifer Oliver Oden of Montgomery City, MO; three children:  Jordan Oden and wife, Karson, of Columbia, MO; Kayla Oden of Montgomery City, MO; and Isaac Oden of Montgomery City, MO; his parents, Roger Alan and Lois Oden of Bellflower, MO; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Will and Floy Oliver of rural Montgomery City, MO; Grandmother, Vivian Oden of Bellflower, MO; Brothers and sister: Joe Oden and wife, Joy, of Jonesburg, MO; Bob Oden of Bellflower, MO; and Julia Holman and husband, Travis, of Winfield, MO; Sisters-In-Law, Stephanie Norris and husband, Bobby, of Mexico, MO: and Cindy Wesselman and husband, Jamie, of Fayette, MO; and two nieces, 3 nephews, and many many friends.  He was loved deeply by everyone that knew him.

Ben was preceded in death by his grandparents, Olin Oden and Annabelle and Frank Broz.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2018, at the First United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Montgomery City, MO.  The Reverend Ed Hankinson officiated.  Visitation was held on Thursday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the First United Methodist-Presbyterian Church in Montgomery City, MO.  Casketbearers included John Cobb, Jr., James Gilbert, Mike Andrews, Roger Oden, Joe Oden, Joe Topel, Dave Colbert, and Dennis Allen.
