Arthur Elwood Tarbell, 77, of Montgomery City, MO passed away February 5, 2026. Art was born on October 4, 1948 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late Marshall W Tarbell and late Irma F Tarbell Travelet. His early formative years were spent in Suffield, Connecticut and Abbeville, S,C.

In 1966 Art moved to Anchorage, Alaska and spent over 40 years living there. He graduated from the University of Alaska. He was a human resource specialist for the state and traveled to outlying villages interviewing people and hiring them for work in canneries, etc.

Art enjoyed music, gardening and going to drag races. When he retired to Missouri, he started his carpet cleaning business and also worked at family owned Subway of Montgomery City. He had a quick wit about him and a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed talking with everyone with whom he came in contact.

Art is survived by his sister, Marcia Tarbell Sevier of Warrenton, MO, his nephew Jacob Sevier (Jennifer) and great nephews Aiden and Clayton Sevier of Auburn, GA and good friend Jim Sec of Soldotna, AK.

Art desired to have his ashes spread on the Kenai River in Soldotna, AK, an area he greatly enjoyed.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Warrenton, Missouri, with Pastor Jeremy Klaustermeier officiating.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, at the church, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

Memorial donations are appreciated to American Cancer Society, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, Columbia Missouri, or St. John's Lutheran Church, Warrenton, Missouri.
